I would rather have the bounce back, but hey... at least she was impressed with our arrangement of the office.
Sonia and I came into the office both Saturday and Sunday to re-arrange the storerooms and two offices. One of the offices is small, very easy to re-arrange. The other one... not so easy. And after Sonia left yesterday, I wanted to stay late and get everything (I mean, everything) done. All the books that weren't put together yet, clean the desktops, make sure everyone was plugged in after moving the desks. Yeah, after about fifteen minutes, I pull some shoulder muscle and I'm heading home. But I did get to clean up the hallway, so that nobody's tripping over boxes and cursing. Yeah, that would be a great impression for customers. And the hallway is out of their view, so they don't have to see the big mess of materials.
But we came in both days! We're so getting paid for that, no matter what Cheryl says. She always says - to me - well, if you came in on the weekend, you should take that time out of your week. Yeah, she says that so I don't get paid overtime. It needed to be done and I doubt I could take out that much time of my work week. Not when I teach as well. That she wasn't too happy with either. Well, she didn't like the idea of nobody being here to open the office. But it worked for a couple of weeks and it's not like the phone is ringing off the hook. But we'll be having a meeting later today to talk about that stuff. And we don't have any other German teachers right now, so....
But other than my shoulder, this weekend was good. Babysat for the Villa's. Lydia and Louis actually had a fight. Stupid Legos. But they're good kids and they talked it out and we played a game before going to bed. Finally. I think they were in bed with the lights out at about nine. Yeah, a good hour past their bedtimes. But they went peacefully. That's really all one can ask, right? Don't say anything April, I know it's different when they are two. Lydia is four and a half and Louis is almost seven. A bit older and wiser. And they understand why I tell them to do stuff. Like not yell. Or not to touch the hot plates. Or drink at least two more sips of your milk. Lydia doesn't like it when I say that.
My novel is slowly coming along. I haven't updated anything in the past couple of days, but I'm thinking. Of course, I eventually have to stop thinking and write. But I'm not quite there yet. I told my dad about it. So, I sent him the link this morning. Just my novel, not this blog. I swear too much here for him to read this. But my novel should keep him happy until he visits for Thanksgiving. And I'm sending him some French materials this week, so he can practice for December. I'm excited about getting to see Paris. Not too excited about seeing it in winter, when it might snow. But, we'll see. Maybe it won't snow and I'll get to walk around longer than an hour a day. Of course, there are plenty of museums to run into if it starts to rain or snow. :) I'm sure I'll have lots of stories to tell in January.
