It's always better on holiday!

Tomorrow is a day off for me! Woohoo! So, I finally have more time to get some things done. I worked on my novel and statement of purpose today. I might run my film over to be developed and pick it up tomorrow. I'll call the Consulate General of Norway's office tomorrow to get all the info on getting my visa, which I think is now a work permit. So, I've got some questions to ask. But Nina is sending my work contract by mail, it should be here soon as she sent it last week. And I went through ticket info and how much everything will cost and it's not looking too shabby. In the end, everything for grad school, Norway and Wisconsin whould cost my just over two paychecks. And I will get three more paychecks before I leave, so I'm all set.

I actually feel productive this weekend. What a fucking concept.

The GG Awards are tonight. I can't wait actually because of the people who are nominated. It's pretty close for the men this year in both main and supporting roles. But for the women, of course, there's a front runner: Annette Bening. I doubt anyone will top her clout for her role in Being Julia. The only others nominated are Scarlett Johansen (who is worthy, but isn't rooted enough to win) and Hilary Swank (who might not win because it'd be like taking a step back) and two more I can't remember, so that bodes not good for them. If I can't remember your name, you're probably not gonna win. But for supporting roles, I'm glad that Natalie Portman got a nod for Closer. But I think Laura Linney will edge her out to win. Kinsey should get all the awards it can, because it was just such an honest and real movie. I would really like Laim Neeson to win, but Johnny Depp is in there for Finding Neverland, and after being nominated last year he might win. Also, Jamie Foxx is huge this year. But Paul Giamatti could walk away with a surprise win over all these famous names. He's brilliant in Sideways and it's the type of role the awards people don't like to leave out. And also don't count out Don Cheadle. Hotel Rwanda was an incredible movie on the indy circuit and critics are just throwing flowers upon flowers for this movie.

Anyways, it'll be fun to watch and see who wears what as well. As much as I love the movies, I love the dresses too. And the Golden Globes are much more relaxing than the Oscars, where people think stiff and traditional means sexy. But I have noticed that the past couple of years have been good: Charlize Theron in her luminescent diamond dress from last year. And Renee Zellweger never fails to amaze, of course. She's up for Bridget Jones, but she won't win.

So, I'm sure I'll have lots more to say after tonight. Damnit, she totally should have won! Or OhMyGod! The voting populus is worthy of a genius title! We shall see.
