I have a German class in exactly sixteen minutes. It'll be fun actually because he already speaks German. Well, more than a beginner and I do hate teaching true beginners sometimes. Penny is an exception, mostly because she is so motivated to learn. But I've had students before who are just horrible at being motivated and I have to do all the work. See, that's why I don't want to teach at public high schools. Abhorrent mandatory language component thing that no one wants to do because they're all a bunch of ignorami. Language should be mandatory like Math and English, but no one sees the point of it. At least in Math and Biology, students do have to eventually use that in their daily life after education. French... not so much. I hate that. But it's a fact.
Anyway, I'm teaching him the future tense, which is relatively easy to teach because it doesn't require a lot of explanation. Try explaining why the articles change due to the dative and accusative case and you get weird looks from your students. Yeah, some things don't have explanations. They simply are.
By the way, if you know what I'm talking about when I say dative and accusative cases, then you're cool.
