Long Weekend

This Sunday is the start of Pentecost (Pinse), so Monday is a day off. Also, Tuesday is the 17th of May, which is Norway's national holiday. Sorta like an independence day, but it was more like a law-got-passed-on-the-constitution day, even though they had signed their constitution a couple months before.

So, Hanna is meeting me for coffee in ten minutes. We'll probably make plans for the weekend, since nothing is open except cafes, bars and theaters. I'll have to do some food shopping tomorrow morning - basic milk, juice, potato chips stuff. Then on Tuesday, I'll walk around downtown and wave at the king and queen before going to Camilla's to celebrate not only the national holiday, but also her birthday. She's around 27, 28, something like that. Then unfortunately, it's back to work on Wednesday. But I love long weekends. I printed out my book from online, so now I have the most updated version to edit from. This is a good thing, as I will have lots of time to edit this weekend.

Ok, can't keep Hanna waiting. She's great - works for the Red Cross, really believes in making change, loves to learn new stuff about other cultures. So, I think we're already getting along just fine. :)

On a sidenote, talked to Thayne last night. I had a moment of realization and weirdness (which I can explain if you ask me), but we really just talked. He told me about his best friend Keith - getting married in two months and has already joined the army (totally not cool with either Thayne or me for various reasons). I told him about my trip to Tromsø and how cool it'll be to sleep with no darkness. It felt really good.
