emus and kangaroos cannot walk backwards

yes, that's right. or did you guys know that already?

So, I joined the National Novel Writing Month and have a another blog as proof. But nothing's posted yet. But the site will be:
http://intherednovel.blogspot.com

I'm basing it off a screenplay I wrote (or the first 20 pages of one) last year. A girl, art student in college on the East Coast, is addicted to sex and has failed relationships with guys. Why? Well, various reasons which will be explored in the story. Her best friend, smart and loyal good-girl, goes to college (Biology or History, I can't decide yet) on the West Coast. Best friend gets an apartment for the next school year and moves in before the end of the current year. Also, she starts a relationship with Andy, an artist. It's a great start and she asks artsy East Coaster for advice. East Coaster is in trouble at school and might lose her scholarships, so when best friend asks her to visit for the whole summer, she jumps at the chance. Except West Coaster forgot to mention that Andy is moving in with her because he just lost his rent contract and the relationship is getting serious. So now for the summer, all three of them are hanging out and enjoying life. Andy and East Coaster have a lot in common and talk and paint together. But it's obvious (after some time) that he's head over heels for West Coaster. East Coaster is a little jealous, so that comes out one night when they all get drunk celebrating West Coaster's 21st birthday and East Coaster ends up having sex with Andy. Oops!

Where does this all end? I've no idea. But East Coaster is the main character. At least that's who I want to center the drama around. The reason why I'm saying West and East Coaster is because I want to change their names from what I had in the screenplay. Andy stays the same, because in Latin it comes from andros meaning man. Thought I could keep that one. I want West Coaster to be Cassie from the Greek Cassandra, who can see into the future. So, she's the voice of reason to East Coaster. But I need a sexual, yet depressing name for East Coaster. Haven't found it yet. If anyone has ideas....

Anyway, I should start posting things tomorrow. I need to go home tonight and find the screenplay. Going through it and finding the good points I can write in the novel shouldn't be too hard. But coming up with a great ending and all the mental shtuff for everyone should be my more difficult tasks. Man, I wish I had more time during the day outside of work to write all this, on top of all the other stuff I'm doing. But I have a calendar and I'm using it!

By the way, the title is from my Snapple I had for lunch. On the cap. I like them....
