I hate my throat!!!!

I went to the doctor yesterday because my thorat was swollen and it hurt a lot. It cost me 700 Kroner, which is just over a hundred bucks. And yeah, that's out of my pocket. If I had gone to the state hospital, it would have been free. But then I would have waited in line for hours. Instead, I paid that much money to see a doctor, get a blood test and get out in about fory-five minutes. That's not bad for not having an appointment in advance at a private clinic in Europe.

I decided to go since I had tonsilitis last year. And one of my tonsils was swollen. It happened so quick - when I woke up yesterday nothing was wrong - that I kinda paniced and didn't want to worry about whether I had tonsilitis again. I didn't have a fever and the other one wasn't swollen, but I didn't want to take a chance. Especially since if you get it two or three times close to each other, then you might have to have them removed. Not what I want...

So, it's a double-edged sword. If I had tonsilitis, then I could get medicine and get better quick, but run the risk of maybe having them taken out in the near future. If I didn't have tonsilitis, then that's great for my tonsils, but would it be viral or bacterial and would I get medicine for it?

Well, it's viral, which means I have to tough it out. That was the bad thing on my mind yesterday. Tough out a swollen throat while the skies outside are flooding? I don't think so... As luck would have it, I'm feeling much better today and slept unusually well for having a swollen tonsil last night. It's still swollen, but hurts much less and I can still drink and eat without too much pain. Talking, on the other hand, is the most painful. So, it gives me an excuse to not answer phones. Yippee!

But it all works out in the end, right?

Whatever.
