Sigh

That's a sigh of relief. Two very big things happened today.

Number One:
One of our students, Lisa, finally got her visa today. This was after she forgot an important piece of paperwork during her visa interview on Tuesday. She was supposed to leave yesterday, but she couldn't be issued a visa. Well, she leaves tomorrow at 7.40 bound for Dallas. I'm sure she'll be ecstatic.

Lisa's mother was extremely grateful as well. They've been on vacation as a family for a while and had to now stay two extra nights because of this. Anne is her name, and she said Thank you, Liz, you've really made us feel like everything would be alright. Well, it is. What can I say? I do my job and sometimes people are happy.

Number Two:
Thayne wrote me an email. A normal, how-ya-doin email. It made my week. Especially after all the stress of the students leaving for the US - including Lisa. So, I feel like I'm back on track. Of course, there will always be a part of me that loves him. He's my first love. If I didn't still love him in one way or another, I'd be a cold person, now wouldn't I?

He's still in Colorado, which doesn't disappoint me. He needs to earn up some cash before moving to Los Angeles. He's working two jobs - one is a boring desk job at a calling center, the other is as a DJ at a gay karaoke bar. Somehow I'm not shocked or surprised by this job. It fits him nicely. I know he's having some fun.

But enough about my hang-ups with Thayne. I've got some friends to meet for coffee! Maybe a movie - rainy days are good for that.
