I mean, everyone else is stupid too, right?

There has been so much going on for me lately. Hence the not being online thing.

Dad has heart surgery, which he's fully recovered from. But there were some moments of worry with prescriptions and infection of stitches, etc. He's taking it seriously, but I'm worried that if he doesn't meet the necessary steps in the next few years, that something else will happen. He doesn't know his body well enough yet - although his new mantra is "My job is my body".

I finally finished the YFU job as Field Director, although the entire district is in conflict due to the new district director, Carol. I've never met her, so all my information is second hand. But the sources of the concern are trustworthy, so I'm inclined to believe it. That, and the fact that two YFU staff in the district, who have been around the longest, are thinking of quitting. Actually, one of them is - he's starting grad school in the fall.

Either way, I have more time now to study for the MA exams, which are literally right around the corner. Written on April 25th and oral on May 2nd. Our little study group has gone over the theory of drama and poetry interpretation - both of which will be on the written. I know I'll be taking my spring break to go over every single text!

The fun stuff that's happened recently is fun to talk about. Mom, Fern and I were down in Disneyland last weekend. I'll put those pictures up next time. Fern has a friend visiting her this weekend. He's also a Thai exchange student, lives down in SoCal. We're going to a baseball game this weekend, with other YFU people. Giants versus Dodgers - so Fern already is taking on the rival attitude with Pek - her friend. Even though he's not living in L.A. - the Dodgers still represent Southern California. And us Northerners don't like them Southerners.

Since it is my spring break though - I need to have more fun alongside all the studying, so the Muse concert on Monday should be good for me. Thank goodness for rock and roll, right?
